Currently, Amanda is working for the Florida Department of Health in Tallahassee as the Pool Safely Program Manager training Florida’s Enforcement Personnel on the Virginia Graeme Baker Act and Water Safety along with helping the WaterSmartFL and SafeKids Coalitions with water safety education throughout the state. Prior to working for the state, Amanda worked for the American Red Cross as an Aquatics Rep for North and Central Florida. She has been a Swim Instructor and Lifeguard Instructor for more than 20 years working all over the US and overseas helping develop safety and programming. Ms. Throndsen holds a Bachelor’s in Business from the University of South Florida and a Master’s in Management and Public Relations from the University of Maryland University College.
