Kristen Urso

Kristen currently serves as Community Program Specialist with the Injury Prevention Department at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and additionally is the Program Coordinator for Safe Kids Allegheny County. Over the past 15 years, she has worked in both the private and public education sectors with focuses on building quality afterschool programs statewide, researching evidence based programs to support families in the Commonwealth, and providing a variety of technical assistance and training to thousands of educators in a multitude of settings. Her current work includes building and executing personalized programs in hospital and school settings while focusing on all unintentional injury areas. 

Kristen is a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor, BeSMART Violence Prevention Trainer, and serves on the Steering Committee for the Girls Coalition of Southwestern PA and Children’s Hospital Safe Sleep Committee. She resides in North Strabane Township with her husband Jason, and two daughters Ava and Sarah.
