Shawneri Guzman

For more than 25 years, Shawneri has dedicated her career to injury prevention. She spent the majority of her career at Providence Hospital, a level II trauma center, working as a Trauma Data Analyst and Injury Prevention Specialist.  There she was able to use real-time injury data to steer prevention efforts.  In 2017, Shawneri made the bold move to leave healthcare and pursue a job at South County Fire, a Regional Fire Authority.  This move allowed her to spend more time on prevention and outreach. She has been involved with Safe Kids Snohomish County since 2000 and currently serves as the President and Coordinator.  Shawneri holds many certifications including Advance Injury Coding, Data Registry Management, Child Passenger Safety Technician & Instructor, Fire & Life Safety Educator and Youth Firesetter Interventionist, to name a few.  She also serves on many local and state committees that include but are not limited to the Snohomish County Fire Prevention Association, Snohomish County Child Death Review Team, North Region Injury Prevention Committee, WA State Drowning Prevention Network, and the Safe Kids Washington Advisory board.
