Susanne Ogaitis-Jones

Susanne is a public health educator who has covered various health topics in her many years in the field, but injury prevention has been her focus for the past 25 or so years. Susanne coordinates a grant at the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems that is funded from the Maryland Highway Safety Office. The ‘Child Passenger Safety and Occupant Protection Healthcare Project’ seeks to advance occupant protection knowledge and skill among Maryland healthcare providers. It is in its 23st year of funding. Susanne’s previous jobs include Research Associate at Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research & Policy, Director of Maryland Kids in Safety Seats, Coordinator of Health Promotion at Rutgers University, and Health Educator for the American Heart Association.
Susanne has a Masters degree in public health education from the University of Massachusetts, a biology degree from UMBC, and is a certified child passenger safety technician-instructor. When she isn’t doing injury prevention work you can find Susanne doing something exciting or relaxing in the great outdoors!
